Man fined £2k for fly-tipping garden waste in lane

BBC reports that ‘A fly-tipper has been ordered to pay a fine of £2,000 and costs of a further £2,000 for leaving garden waste in a lane near Plymouth.

Councillor Victor Abbott, the council’s lead on community services, said: “I hope this successful prosecution sends a strong message out to anyone tempted to illegally dump their waste that we will take action.”
